Who is everyone and what you up to? Forgive me if the intro's are old news, I'll have a hunt on older discussions to catch up!

As for me....I am a 'homeworker' based in Emberton near Olney. A freelance new business professional, I have worked with marketing and market research agencies for 9 years now helping them to grow their business. I moved to the area about 3 years ago from York, from London, from Edinburgh, from St Andrews...originally from St Albans.

I look forward to all future conversations!

    Hi Kaeli

I think you are officially the first person to post a "I'm new" so I'm going to make it sticky for all introductions.

I'm Rob, I work at Provide Design, primarily as their web geek but my background is both print and web graphic design. I've been a designer for about 10 years and have worked in various design agencies, publishing houses and print studios.

Myself and two others (who I shall leave out to make their own introductions) set up and run FunkBunk about 18 months ago to break-out of the home working environment and this community forum was essentially 'tacked' onto the website.

Just recently we have felt we need to push this side of the website due to the complete lack of true creative/media conversation within the local Milton Keynes area where we are based. I hope you like it enough to stick around.

Pleased to meet you Rob. I would love to join in the break out of homeworking, but my location is just too restrictive (as well as working I am also a mum which constrains my hours....commuting of any sort is out!)

Maybe I'll pop in for a cuppa one day!

    Hi Kaeli,

Richard here, freelance web developer, mostly Flash, Flex, AIR, but also getting into Android and in the past MS tech (Silverlight, .NET). That's it in a nutshell, pleased to meet you.

    Hi all,

I'm Andi - I'm a graphic and web designer. I mainly work on the web these days, doing tasty HTML and CSS stuff, as well as the odd bit of development in PHP, JS and Actionscript.

I'm actually feeling like a bit of a fraud for being here as I moved up to Newcastle last year when I went freelance, although I still spend a good amount of time down in MK and I try to keep up with the local design community. Hope you don't mind me hanging around!

    Take care,

    Andi

This forum is not strictly MK clique. Oh hell no, I've had enough of them. So you're more than welcome.

James here. I'm new to all of this too! Received a link to it from my 'other' Twitter feed. I'm a graphic designer with over 15 years experience on the old fashioned print side of the business… I suddenly feel old. Planning to expand my business in the MK area so Very Red Design is still a growing idea with a VERY blank web page at the moment that I am in the process of updating!

Looking forward to what all of this may bring!

Hi, I'm Elizabeth. Photographic artist and creative portrait photographer. Lived around MK for only 18 months and have fallen in love with it! I create photographic art for myself, galleries and publications, as well as producing creative portraiture for magazines and musician PR. I have a website if you fancy a look.

Hello there everyone! Welcome to the FunkBunk Community!

I am Sam, I run Provide Design and then found myself setting up FunkBunk 18 months ago as Rob said to help businesses break-out of the home working environment (physically and virtually).

I'm a local lad, and have been passionate about design since my first art classes at school. I trained at Amersham and Dunstable Colleges (when Macs were still steam powered) and then found myself designing tattoos and working in a petrol station whilst dreaming of a placement in a London agency. I then got a lucky break with a local marketing agency, designing exhibition graphics. This lead to all sorts of other opportunities including my much wanted time in London. Eventually I came back to the area to become creative director of another local agency.

7 years ago I started Provide Design to start exploring some the projects I really wanted to work on. The team has grown and shrunk and grown over time and we have worked all over the world, designing our socks off; from Aston Martin dashboard graphics through to intricate website development for the European Business Awards.

Being in the creative / media / online industry is what keeps the fire burning inside us and one of the best things about it is the people. I get on really well with other designers / engineers / geeks, most of us love what we do and we can talk the hind legs off anyone that will listen to us about it.

So how about it then? Ask us some design questions, ask us some web questions, talk to us about art or sign making. Just don't ask for a good plumber or poodle groomer because that's what yell.com is for :)

    Cheers

    Sam
